Pepe and Anna again showed that they belong to the world’s elite.

Pepe and Anna finished their second consecutive Olympics at a place as number 14 in the freestyle final in Rio de Janeiro today.

The couple entered the stadium as number two and despite riding in the morning, the sun was burning already. Overall Anna and Pepe had a pleasant ride, however with errors in both of the onetime tempi´s, which is expensive at this level. The panel of seven judges scored the ride a 76.9 %, resulting in a place as number 14 and an improvement from Friday´s Grand Prix Special.

“The dream scenario was a ranking among the ten best, but we did our best and I am very pleased. Pepe fought hard for me in there, he gave it his all. I think we were both affected by the heat,” says Anna.

Ahead awaits the long travel back to Denmark and a well deserved holiday for both horse and rider. On the question about the future perspectives of Pepe, Anna replies that “I think he still has some miles in his legs but it is up to Pepe. He decides how long he wants to be a part of the game.”
