With the two third places in Aachen, Pepe and Anna are ready to defend the Danish colours at the European Championships.

Pepe and Anna have been selected for the Danish national team for the sixth consecutive time. Together with teammates from OG in Rio, Cathrine and Agnete, and the senior debutant Anna Zibrabdtsen, the team hopes to be competing for the medals at the European Championships in Sweden in August.

Pepe did not compete at the Danish Championships earlier this month due to a tooth operation, but in Aachen the 18-year-old gelding proved that he is fit and ready for another international championship. He came in third both in the CDI 4* Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special in Aachen, with 74,3 and 74,8 %, respectively.

“I had two good rides at Pepe in Aachen. While I also brought my youngster, ‘Q’, who won the small tour classes, it is just always a wonderful feeling to be back in the saddle of Pepe. He is my best friend and he simply loves to show off! I know exactly how much I can push in the arena, and he always gives it his best to help me out. In addition, I was very happy for all the comments I received from rider colleagues in the international circuit, who complimented Pepe for his great form – in his 18th year! These comments makes me proud and I feel grateful for the chance to ride another championship with him”, Anna concludes. Pepe will have some rest now before the training towards the European Championships begin.
